TOGETHER
We Educate | We Engage | We Inspire

Women for Good educates, engages, and inspires giving to improve the lives of women and girls in Black Hawk County. Established in 1999 at the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, Women for Good grants to nonprofit organizations changing the lives of women and girls every year through the Women's Fund endowment. Women for Good was established with a $50,000 donation from local philanthropist, Pauline Barrett, who saw a vision and purpose for this program. Since then, through membership dues and donations, the Women’s Fund endowment has granted over $200,000 to programs and projects (see the full list) impacting women and girls. We know we can do more, together!

Less than 2% of overall charitable giving in the U.S. goes toward organizations which support women and girls' causes. The statistic listed above from the 2022 research report released by the Women's Philanthropy Institute is one reason why Women for Good membership is so important! As a member, you can make a difference by helping us increase funding to the nonprofits meeting the unique needs of women and girls where we live. Membership also provides you with an opportunity to engage with other community-minded individuals at quarterly events to learn about the biggest needs of women and girls in Black Hawk County and to hear from organizations providing solutions.
