Cedar Valley Makers has established the Cedar Valley Makers Capital Campaign Fund with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa to support their mission of fostering collaborative learning, creative design, and manufacturing for people of all ages and skill levels. This fund is part of the organization’s effort to secure a new home by May 15, 2025, ensuring they can continue to serve as a vital community resource.
Over the past decade, Cedar Valley Makers has built a creative community with affordable access to an impressive array of tools, training, and mentors for makers of all skill levels. They have partnered with nonprofits, educational institutions, STEM programs, and small business startups to promote STEM education, entrepreneurship, and the arts. Losing this unique space would be a tremendous loss for the community and its partners.
“We have until May 15, 2025, to meet our goal and make this vision a reality,” said Mike Hoffman, CVM Board Treasurer. “With additional community support, we will create a larger, better-equipped Makerspace that can serve even more people and redirect funds currently spent on rent toward new programs, equipment, and improvements. This is a gym membership for the mind, and it’s an investment in a brighter, more innovative Cedar Valley.”
To support Cedar Valley Makers’ mission and their move to a new home, donations can be made to the Cedar Valley Makers Capital Campaign Fund by visiting fund.cfneia.org/cvmakers-campaign. Gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law, and donors will receive acknowledgment from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, an accredited nonprofit organization.
