Grantmaking Snapshot: Building Our Brand Murals
September 23, 2019
Mason City, Iowa is known as a city rich in art and culture. It’s dubbed as one of the “World's 20 Best Cities for Architecture” and is a hot spot for Prairie School design thanks to famous architect and designer Frank Lloyd Wright. In an effort to reinforce the city’s reputation and enhance its brand, River City Sculptures on Parade received a grant from the Cerro Gordo County Community Foundation for its Building Our Brand Mural Project. An artist with local ties and volunteers painted Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired murals at three key downtown building locations: Brick Furniture (pictured above), Central Park Dentistry, and City Center.
